Artificial Ferns & Grasses
Ferns and grasses are the texture plants. Where a large-leaved plant makes a bold single statement, these do something subtler — they fill gaps, soften hard lines and give a grouping the feathery, layered look that stops it feeling arranged. They are the pieces that make a display look like it grew rather than like it was bought.
Ferns bring the soft, shade-garden feel: maidenhair for delicacy, Boston and asparagus ferns for fuller, more billowing shapes. They suit bathrooms, shaded corners and anywhere you want a cool green rather than a bright one. Grasses are more upright and architectural, and read as modern and slightly wild; they work well in tall floor pots and in mixed groupings where you need height without bulk.
Both types are more effective in odd-numbered groups than alone, and both are usually improved by being slightly fluffed out on arrival — packing flattens the fronds, and a minute spent bending stems outward makes a noticeable difference. Combine with foliage plants for a layered scheme, or use them as filler around a larger artificial tree.
